THE GROUNDS AND LAKE

Our peaceful setting in a small hamlet will help you unwind and enjoy your surroundings which are enhanced by the friendly atmosphere we create for all our guests. As a working sheep farm, with horses also grazing the land, there is always plenty to see and do. Our free range Chickens provide freshly laid eggs for breakfast and all our high quality produce is locally sourced. Guests staying on a self -catering basis will find a welcome pack including essentials and a few treats to ease them into their stay. We welcome guests from all over the world to enjoy our home, which has been in the family since the 1800’s, the beautiful villages and the landscape of our unspoilt piece of South Northamptonshire.

Astwell Mill itself, forms part of an old deserted Medieval village which is listed in the Domesday Book. Although the Mill has not been in production since 1929 and the workings, including the wheel, were removed in the 1940’s, there is still plenty of evidence of what it would have been like living and working here in times gone by. The lakes are teeming with freshwater fish and a superb natural habitat for wildlife. Guests often see ducks, swans, moorhens and baldcoots during their stay. The heron, little egret and kingfisher often also make an appearance, whilst early risers may spy a badger, fox or occasionally an otter

A great location with lovely views of the countryside and the Mill Pond. Nice big bedroom and en-suite and great breakfast cooked to order.

Lovely family welcome who all make you feel at home. Some great pubs with good food within a short drive or a reasonable walk. Highly recommended.

In fact it’s the best B&B we’ve ever stayed at!
