It’s been a busy week here at Astwell Mill Bed and Breakfast in the run up to Christmas. Last Friday we waved goodbye to one of our regular guests who has been working locally for the last few months and are currently enjoying a festive break. Having said that we are always ready to accept bookings at any time as we are open all year round. Local people often ask who books to stay here and what do they come for? My reply is always ‘for a variety of reasons’. South Northamptonshire is very much an undiscovered area which was recently voted the third best place to live in the country. We are centrally located for towns such as Oxford, Northampton, Banbury, Milton Keynes and Bicester. The Market towns of Brackley and Towcester are both about 5 miles away with plenty of places to eat and shop. There is much to do in the local vicinity including Silverstone Circuit, Tanks a Lot and Llama trekking. People visit us for those reasons and more. Some are looking for a romantic break in an idyllic setting, whilst some enjoy the family atmosphere of our home and the warmth of an open fire in the winter. We are very welcoming here and always enjoy a cup of tea and chat with our guests in the lounge. It’s amazing what you can learn about the world!
As a working sheep farm there is plenty happening through the year. Lambing is due to start in March and our horses, which we keep for fun, are always in need of attention. Throughout the year, we entertain holiday makers from the UK and abroad, walkers, cyclists, bikers, wedding parties, people visiting friends locally, people breaking their journey from one end of the country to the other and business people too. We have made many friends again in 2014 and are looking forward to seeing lots of you again next year.
Until then, we wish you a very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.
